Panama Property Guide is a property marketplace and research publication for Panama, published by Top Deals Real Estate S.A. We list properties for sale and we write about how buying one actually works.

Most of what is written in English about buying property in Panama is written by people selling it, or by people who moved here and would like to feel good about the decision. We are trying to be useful earlier than that, at the point where someone is still working out whether this is a real option.

What we cover

• The purchase process, from the promesa de compraventa to the entry at the Registro Público.
• Residency routes, and how a property purchase interacts with each of them.
• What areas cost, calculated from our own listings rather than from a survey.
• The vocabulary. Panama's transaction runs on Spanish terms of art, and mistranslating one of them is expensive.

How we are paid

We are a real estate business, not a magazine. When a reader asks for help, that enquiry goes to a licensed broker, and the brokerage is how the publication is funded. You should read everything here knowing that.

What that does not buy is the editorial. Nobody pays to appear in an article, to be described favourably, or to have an unflattering figure removed. The full disclosure is on our advertising page.

Where we are

Top Deals Real Estate S.A. is a Panamanian company and we work in Panama. The person who answers a property enquiry is a licensed Panamanian broker, not a call centre in another country.
